How to play today's daily jigsaw puzzle
The picture is ready as soon as the page opens, but the clock does not start until you move your first piece. You can look at the complete image, choose the board that suits your available time, and begin only when you are ready. There is no account setup or tutorial to dismiss.

Use a mouse or your finger. Neighboring pieces join when their correct edges come close together.

Finish the picture to record the result, update your local streak, and copy a link to your solve.
The controls remain available while you solve. Preview opens the finished picture without resetting the board. Edges temporarily filters the workspace to outside pieces. Pause stops the timer and covers the board, Restart clears only the selected difficulty, and Full screen gives the puzzle as much room as the browser can provide. Progress is measured by connected groups rather than pieces placed into fixed slots: correctly neighboring pieces snap together and can then be moved as one group.

Daily jigsaw puzzle difficulty levels
Every daily picture is available in five grid sizes. Changing difficulty saves the current board before opening the next one, so you can try another level without losing the arrangement you already made. Each level has its own local save. Exact solving time varies with the picture, screen size, and how often you use Preview or Edges, so the descriptions below explain the kind of session rather than promising a finish time.
Easy
12 piecesA relaxed step up with enough pieces to feel satisfying while keeping the picture easy to read on a phone-sized screen.
Classic
24 piecesThe balanced default for a normal daily session. It adds a useful challenge without making the board feel crowded.
Hard
35 piecesA more involved solve for players who enjoy comparing shapes, colors, and small visual details before making a move.
Expert
54 piecesThe fullest board available today, intended for experienced solvers who want a longer and more deliberate puzzle.
Classic opens by default with 24 pieces. The game reads each picture's original width and height, fits the completed board without cropping or stretching, and chooses rows and columns that keep individual pieces reasonably balanced. A landscape image therefore uses more columns than rows, while a portrait image turns the grid the other way. Difficulty changes the number of pieces, not the daily picture, so friends can solve the same scene at different comfort levels.
One picture per day
What is a daily jigsaw puzzle?
A daily jigsaw puzzle gives everyone one featured picture for a particular date instead of asking players to browse a large catalog. ChillPuzzles uses the current UTC date to select the picture, which means the day changes at 00:00 UTC for every visitor. People opening the site on the same UTC day receive the same image. If the page stays open across midnight, it checks for the new date and offers a button to load the fresh puzzle rather than interrupting a solve already in progress.
The current version is deliberately focused on today. It does not provide a calendar or an archive of earlier dates, and a share link records a result rather than reopening an old playable board. That keeps the routine straightforward: visit, solve today's scene, and return after the UTC date changes. You can replay the current picture or tackle it at another difficulty, but past daily puzzles are not offered as archive pages.
The picture and starting layout are selected deterministically from the built-in collection. Refreshing the page does not silently swap today's image for a different one. Your five difficulty saves are separate, and the browser restores the appropriate arrangement when you return to a level you already started. No account or server-side profile is involved.
A small daily ritual
Why play a jigsaw puzzle every day?
A jigsaw gives your attention one concrete job: compare a shape, notice a color boundary, and decide which pieces belong together. There is no feed to keep scrolling and no opponent demanding a quick response. A short solve can create a clear boundary between meetings, study sessions, household tasks, or the end of the day.
The five difficulty choices let that break fit the moment. A Starter board can be a quick visual reset, while Hard or Expert supports a slower session with more comparison and experimentation. Because timing begins with the first move, looking at the picture and choosing a level never counts against the result.
The streak is meant as a private reminder of the routine, not a public leaderboard. Completing today's picture updates the current and best streak stored in this browser. It does not compare your speed with strangers, require a profile, or penalize you with notifications. You decide whether the timer and move count are useful feedback or simply numbers to ignore.
Repetition also makes the controls familiar. After a few visits, you already know how Preview, Edges, Pause, and Full screen work, so the next session begins with almost no setup. The subject changes with the daily selection while the calm interaction stays consistent.
No app required
Playing on mobile
ChillPuzzles runs in a modern mobile browser, so there is nothing to install and no app-store account to use. The board uses pointer controls that support touch dragging as well as a desktop mouse. Touch a piece, move it toward a matching neighbor, and release it when the shapes are close enough to join. Joined pieces move together, which makes larger sections easier to manage as the picture takes form.
Full-screen mode removes most of the surrounding page and gives the board a dedicated workspace. On supported phones it also attempts to use landscape orientation, while the canvas still adapts if orientation locking is unavailable. Preview remains close at hand when you need to check a color or object, and Pause stops the clock if a mobile session is interrupted.
Game state is saved to localStorage in the current browser after moves. That includes piece positions, elapsed time, move count, completion state, and separate progress for each difficulty. The streak is stored locally too. Closing a tab or refreshing normally lets you continue, but clearing site data, using private browsing, changing browsers, or moving to another device can remove or separate those saves. ChillPuzzles does not require an account and does not upload this progress for cross-device syncing.
